In this new episode of the Power For Good podcast, I am joined by Jemarc Axinto, a dear friend who is a transformational life coach, spiritual guide, and Chopra-certified meditation and health teacher.
After living their life disguising their true emotions, Jemarc reached a breaking point and started thinking about ending their life. They realized then that, without finding the capacity for self-love, they would never be happy.
So, they started on their healing path, and today they're revolutionizing the journey into Enlightenment through practices grounded in science and spirituality, recognizing that one cannot exist and thrive in the modern world without the other.
Listen to this episode as we talk about living life with compassion and self-love, accepting trauma as an inevitable step toward our spiritual evolution, and finding true happiness.
In today’s episode:
(00:44) My guest and dear friend, Jemarc Axinto
(01:59) Using Your Power for Good- living life with compassion and wisdom;
(04:03) Building a relationship with your suffering;
(07:56) Take a chance on happiness- advice for those struggling with their identity;
(14:16) The role trauma has in our evolution;
(19:22) Ways to overcome trauma and move on with your life;
(21:59) Discovering the healing power of Buddhism;
(26:19) Find the right teacher that can help you become self-empowered;
(29:33) What is a spiritual awakening?
(34:02) Connect with Jemarc.
Quotes:
“My power for good is being able to show up as lovingly kind and compassionate as I can be and also recognize I need space for myself because I no longer want to be that bitch who pours from an empty cup.”
“I called myself a master of disguise. I was very good at hyper coat switching and becoming whomever people needed me to be.”
“I don’t want to be the person who says I wasted my life. Oftentimes we over attache to something external because we’re so afraid of the unknown, we’re so afraid of taking a chance on happiness.”
“You can’t get to the love and light without going through the depths of darkness and shadow.”
“I was told that only through God will I ever be good, and so without God, I’m just doomed to be bad. Also, I’m queer, so I’m definitely bad.”
“If by me living in this way, if I just walk by someone in the street and they see me wearing a dress and they go home and let’s say their masculine presenting and they try a dress on, that’s so beautiful to me.”
“The power for good is about living in such a way that other people realize they’re allowed to be themselves.”

019: Competition Rituals and Breathwork
Feb 6, 2023

So this week I just returned from yet another Horse jumping competition, yes fun fact I ride horses and I compete in hunter jumper and jumping competitions with my horse. I always say you find your greatest teachers in the most unexpected places and I have to tell you, Nacco - my horse, is most definitely one of my greatest teachers. In just 8 months of our time together I have learned so much from him. He is very sensitive and very emotional and he tunes into my emotions. So the more mindful and calm I am, the better, but the more anxious or upset I get, the worse. He teaches me to breathe, to calm my nervous system, to relax and to connect to him. He notices every detail of my riding so he also teaches me to be absolutely present in every movement.
Competitions bring on a lot of stress, anxiety and emotions and I have found that there is no better place to remember my rituals and breathwork practices. In this episode I share the most valuable practices I use to prepare for competitions.
Episode Highlights:
Horse jumping competitions
Pre-competitions rituals
How to deal with anxiety and stress
Breathwork for competitions and high stress situations like a performance or big speech at work
Unexpected teachers

Today's very special guest is a friend and mentor of mine Moun D'Simone! We talked about it all in this interview from mirrors, to meditation practices to Moun's beautiful metamorphosis from top model in New York to the powerful spiritual mentor she is today.
Moun is a spiritual mentor, meditation guide, and artist. She is a devoted Tibetan Buddhist practitioner, trained in contemplative psychotherapy, known for her big sister's warmth and real-talk style- she is everyone's Spiritual Godmother. Her profound and practical methods were created by integrating her lived experiences from immigrant-house cleaner to modeling-photo editor in NYC with extended time in retreats in India, Nepal, Thailand, and Indonesia. Moun has studied with esteemed masters like His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and many more Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, Ven Karin Valham, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Ven Robina Courtin, and the oracle Khadro-la.
She’s known for her renowned Practice Club group programs, where connection, compassion, and play make up the home for healing and expression. Dedicated to helping people forgive, feel at home in their bodies, and have agency in their own lives through classic wisdom teachings made modern, combined with trauma-informed somatic techniques. She mentors clients privately, teaches retreats internationally and leads group programs. She just returned from a 3-month Vajrasattva retreat in Nepal filled with inspiration to share! And she shares it all in this powerful episode.
Episode Highlights:
How Moun is using her power for good and what that means to her
The power of our choices, big and small
What drives transformation
How we are mirrors for each other
Overcoming disordered eating
The role of Buddhism in her life and work
The power of mantra

In this episode we talk about breathwork, the science behind breathwork and particularly the science behind breathwork journeys, conscious connected breathing for an extended period of time, what I call alchemical breathwork or transformational breathwork.
This is a practice that can literally transform us, that can bring us in just one session fully into our power. And the beauty of a breathwork journey is that it is a system for somatic healing and trauma release whereby the person never even has to speak about or relive the painful memory or experience in order to release it.
Join me to learn all about breathwork journeys.
Episode Highlights:
What is alchemical breathwork and breathwork journeys?
How breathwork relates and connects us to our power
The science of the brain and trauma
The connection between the breath and the nervous system
What happens to our brain during a breathwork journey session
Benefits of breathwork journeys

Hi, I'm Christina Rae,
I’m a somatic healer and life coach based in Miami. I help people transform their lives by guiding them through their darkest times. My holistic approach to transformation is a combination of years of training and my personal life experiences with neurochemistry and somatic practices.
Through my own journey of healing past trauma and addiction, I have found deep purpose and power in sharing my practice. This practice saved my life, and it continues to shine light on my presence and purpose on this planet on a daily basis.
I believe we are our most ancient and powerful medicine. Our voices, breath and bodies can not only heal us but they hold deep innate wisdom and are always trying to guide us back to our truest selves. To tap into this medicine, I lead clients and groups through Alchemical Breathwork journeys and somatic practices where we release the toxic residue that trauma has left in our bodies.
My mission is to walk alongside my clients, helping them discover their own bodies primitive wisdom as they start to relate to themselves and their past in a completely new way. Together, we drop all the stories and sit with the feelings.
